OMG!! I just found a hidden treasure among my photo archives! I made this post on my blog many years ago and one of the photos I took (below) that day was of Perfume! Of course I had no idea who they were but incredible that I got this shot of them, although only from behind. I just happened to be in Akiba on the day they were doing the Uchimizu event. I'm totally blown away by this find.
I googled and found another photo of Perfume at the event. I could have been in this photo if I stood around behind them longer.
Here is a link to the Akiba Report about that particular event.I got an idea how Twitter can make money. OK, here it is.
All Twitter accounts will be categorized into a bunch of demographics like gender, age, location, tweet frequency etc. Then Twitter will sell the ability to companies and services to mass tweet advertising and what not to demographics in locations that suit whatever information they want to impart. Kind of like adsense. The cost scales according to number of people, number of tweets the advertiser wants to buy etc. Personally information is not disclosed to the adverstiser. They only choose the demographic for which to target their paid tweets. If you are a user you can opt out of all this tweet-spam by paying for your account. Free accounts will get tweet-ads but only based on the user's frequency of twitter activity so maybe there could be a scale like for every 10 tweets you get 1 ad. 100 tweets, 10 ads. That seems fair, right? Or some users may want to be able to choose what kind of tweet ad they receive. Instead of finding followers they can set various alerts around categories they want to hear about, like a new product release, or an event near their location etc. Kind of like a mailing list although more direct into your twitter feed. Good idea?I wonder if Twitter will give me a royalty if they use my idea ;-)I got over 150 ebooks on my Kindle(s). Beside my Kindle 3, I have Kindle apps installed on my iPhone, my Blackberry (which doesn't work that well btw), my PC, my iPad. Next, I'm hoping that Amazon will release a browser based Kindle reader so I can read my books on any PC without having to install the Kindle App. Maybe Kindle will develop a Firefox Add on? That'd be really cool. Amazon, are you listening?
Tepika hand disinfectant gel found at 7-11. Couldn't resist the raccoon.
A friend brought it back for me as a souvenir. Ganesha, god of removing obstacles. Here's praying that Ganesha will remove my bad trading habits and help me become profitable ;-P I got another one in my car as well.
Lately, I've been watching a lot of videos of Perfume on youtube (It's addictive!) Around 2008 they became a huge sensation in the JPop scene and since then it's almost impossible to get tickets to their sold out concerts. But most people don't realize that they have been around for almost 10 years singing in malls and supermarkets when they were still in junior high school. After they got famous, people have been posting videos of them in these early days and I've found it quite inspiring to see that they've worked at these venues for some many years and finally their hard work has paid off. There are literally hundreds of these videos on Youtube which is indicative of the hard work they've put into their act without giving up. A true Cinderella story. It inspired me to press on with my own efforts. There is no easy path to success.
Here they are really young.
And here, apparently they spent a lot of time playing at the Sun Street Shopping centre in Kameido.
They performed at an opening ceremony at Laqua near Tokyo Done. Everyone is just sitting there watching! Can't believe it. Just like what one of the commenters to this video said, I wish I had a time machine to go back and see this. Song is Monochrome Effect.
Practicing for the performance at LaQua, almost nobody is watching!
Here they are in the Apple Store.
At AsobitCity in Akihabara. Check out that tiny stage!
This is what their concerts are like now..I wish I could have gone.
Here's a short list of impressions and observations on the iPad after using it for a day:
Sent from my iPad
A good friend brought me back an iPad from the U.S. a few weeks ahead of the Japan launch. I have been playing with it for the last hour and I have to say that this is not just a big iPod Touch as some people have been saying. I'll admit that I was not that excited about it, although I had already decided to get one. But you really need to play with one of these to understand why it is a game changer. After only a few minutes I could see how I could not need a laptop anymore and use this as one of my main web devices around the house.
