Hybrid CR-Z on display at Honda Showroom in Tokyo

Visited the Honda Showroom in Tokyo yesterday during lunch to see the CR-Z. I'm not sure I would call this a sports car, more like a sportier FIT. There are aspects about the CR-Z that I like. It's a hybrid which is good and I'm all for eco although I imagine it's on the heavy side because of the battery (I haven't looked at the spec). I like the side view and the size of the car, but I'm still not crazy about that front end. Something about that snout doesn't appeal to me but not as bad in person. Looks similar to the RX8.

The interior is a mess. For some reason, it just didn't feel right. There were too many lines at different angles all over, in the dash, on the side of the door. Some aircon vents were horizontal, others vertical and also many different shades of gray with different textures all contributing to me feeling very distracted and uneasy in the cockpit. The plastics are not totally crap but not that good either. I do like the Honda gauge design though. And the steering wheel has some neat buttons like the ones for hands free phone. Probably I'm just to so used to my Roadster which has always felt perfect in it's simplicity.

The CR-Z spec says this is a four seater but that backseat is pretty much useless unless you're a hobbit. It's not so much the lack of leg space but rather the roof is so low you have to bend your neck or lie down to fit in there. Very uncomfortable. A baby seat would be ok though. I imagine a young couple with a baby or two would be the target demographic for the CR-Z.
