Perfume in Akiba 2005

OMG!! I just found a hidden treasure among my photo archives! I made this post on my blog many years ago and one of the photos I took (below) that day was of Perfume! Of course I had no idea who they were but incredible that I got this shot of them, although only from behind. I just happened to be in Akiba on the day they were doing the Uchimizu event. I'm totally blown away by this find.

I googled and found another photo of Perfume at the event. I could have been in this photo if I stood around behind them longer.

Here is a link to the Akiba Report about that particular event.

Posterous Functionality Wish List

Here's a list of functionality that I hope the Posterous guys will implement soon.

  1. TimeZone configurations
  2. Ability to edit comments
  3. Threaded comments
  4. Ability to upload photos/videos from "post from web"
  5. Javascript (so I can add Google Adsense)
  6. More ways to organize blog posts than just tags or the linear time line (e.g. most popular, by date etc)
  7. Extend the length of URL (based off of the post title) so they are not cut off
  8. Ability to create custom pages
  9. Fix the redirect issues of my original domain so I stay logged in
  10. Comment moderation

I realize that they are working mostly on the features that distinguishes themselves from the other services (autopost) but it would be nice to have the basic stuff so we can use it as the main platform for blogging rather than a delivery method. I have high hopes for Posterous! But if they don't fix number 1 soon it's gonna drive me absolutely crazy.

Please resubscribe to my new RSS

If you are reading this because you have kept my Q-Taro RSS in your reader, first I want to say thank you. I'm happy and grateful that there are still hundreds of people subscribed to my feed despite not having updated that blog in a long time. For the time being I've moved that RSS feed to this new blog's source but eventually I want to discontinue that RSS and maintain only one. So please take the time to resubscibe to my new RSS feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/roy61

Thanks and have a good day!

Moving to Posterous

I've decided to give posterous a try and continue my blogging, or rather restart my blogging, on this site. I enjoy tinkering around with wordpress and php and mysql and so on, but these days I just don't have the time for that aspect of blogging and would rather do everything on a hosted service. If it wasn't for the fact that google adsense is still sending me money for blog.q-taro.com I would just shut it down and stop paying for it.

I spent the better part of today evaluating Posterous and also upgrading my wordpress on q-taro.com to compare and see if Posterous was really what I wanted to use. Posterous won't earn me any income from blogging (believe it or not q-taro.com is still bringing in the bucks considering I haven't updated it in a year) because I don't think you can use any kind of adsense or affiliate yet. But considering my short/mid term goals it's not an area that I can properly spend time doing well anyways. Posterous is simple and I love the clean design. The admin tools are great and also the fact that I can blog from gmail is very nice. I look forward to a simple uncluttered blog experience.

Odaiba Gundam Pics with Digital Harinezumi

Just testing out posterous again and trying to decide whether I want to use this service or turbo my wordpress to do everything I want it to do. The  problem with Posterous is that I can't really control the layout and also everyone's blog looks that the same. Is that someone I want? Do I care?

Anyways, posting some photos from last years Gundam in Odaiba to see how Posterous works. Get a Digital Harinezumi here

Edit: Found out that you can edit the CSS quite freely. I'll be tweaking it little by little.
